Wanda L. Slaby, 90, of Arcadia died on Monday, February 22, 2016, at her home. Wanda was born on September 7, 1925, in Dodge to Benjamin and Genevieve (Herek) Brom.
Wanda married Eugene Slaby on June 4, 1951, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pine Creek. Eugene preceded her in death on November 4, 2007. Wanda was actively involved at Church. She was a member of Holy Family Parish, served on the P.C.C.W., and was President of the Rosary Society. Wanda also farmed with her husband, was a waitress at Mary Kay's Kitchen and Club 93, and was a secretary for Dr. Drier. She enjoyed playing cards and was a member of area card clubs.
Wanda is survived by 3 daughters: Patty Slaby of Arcadia, Mary Jo Duellman of Fountain City, Karen (Dan) Culbertson of Junction City, KS; 6 grandchildren: Andy, Katie and Spencer Hoch, Sarah (Rich) Kiekhoefer, Samantha (Kyle) Justin, Mitchell Culbertson; 3 great grandchildren: Rylie, Thomas, and Bree; 3 sisters-in-laws. She was preceded in death by her husband; a daughter: Ann Hoch; a brother: James Brom; son-in-law: Tom Duellman; and a sister-in-law: Delores Brom.
Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, February 25, 2016, at 11:00 AM at Holy Family Parish with Rev. Sebastian Kolodziejczyk officiating. Friends may call on Thursday from 9:00 AM until the time of services at the church. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, rural Arcadia.
