Violet R. Comero, 98, of Arcadia and formerly of Waumandee died on Wednesday, September 6, 2017, at her home.
Violet was born on August 10, 1919, in Eagle Valley, Buffalo County, WI to Herman and Esther (Haeuser) Ratz. Violet married Norman John Comero on May 4, 1937, at the Parsonage at the Montana Methodist Church in the township of Montana, WI. She farmed with Norman. She was a cook at the Green School in Waumandee. Violet also spent several years as a CNA at St. Michael's Nursing Home in Fountain City and St. Joseph's Hospital in Arcadia. She enjoyed reading, quilting, knitting, embroidery, coloring, paint by numbers, and especially her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She had cut hair for the neighborhood families, made wedding cakes, was a wonderful cook, and wrote stories of her younger years. She was a member of St. John's Church of Christ in Fountain City, WI.
Violet is survived by her 5 sons: Melvin (Carol) Comero, Gene (Rosie) Comero of Michigan, Roger (Nancy) Comero of Waumandee, Norman Lee (Carol) Comero of Maple Grove, MN, Aaron Comero of Waumandee; 8 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren; two half-brothers: Jim and Ernest Guenther. Violet was preceded in death by her husband: Norman; sisters: Bernice Guenther, Lorraine Thomas, Esther Guenther and LuVerne Hovre.
Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, September 12, 2017, at 11:00 AM at St. John's Church of Christ in Fountain City with Rev. Greg Ferriss officiating. Friends may call on Tuesday from 9:00 AM until the time of services at the church. Burial will be in the Montana Methodist Cemetery in the township of Montana, WI.
