Violet Marie Boltz age 93, of Fountain City, WI returned to her heavenly home on Monday, April 21, 2014, at St. Anne Extended Healthcare in Winona surrounded by her family.
Violet was born in Stevens Point, WI, on May 29, 1920, to Walter and Lillian (Rader) Kaline. She moved to Waumandee, WI as a young child. Violet married Peter Boltz on February 2, 1937, in Waumandee, WI. They enjoyed 52 years of marriage before Peter passed away in 1989. Violet and her husband Peter operated the Standard Oil Station in Waumandee for many years before retiring to Bluff Siding, WI. During the time in Waumandee she was also the Postmaster of the Post Office located in the Gas Station. Violet and Pete loved to take their winter break and spend the time in their travel trailer headed to the warmth of the south. Many of the winter months spent in Tempe, Arizona with friends they made from around the country. Violet could not sit still and after selling the gas station she decided to work the assembly line at Wincraft for 16 years and retired at 72. One of her favorite things to do was attend the Wincraft company picnics where she could catch up with old friends.
She also had many hobbies that kept her busy; she enjoyed sewing, crocheting and collecting dolls. Violet spent hours sewing dresses to give to charities; because of this passion her grandchildren have many custom made gifts to remind them of their beloved grandmother.
Violet also loved music and in her younger days loved to play the guitar, organ and the accordion. She had a secret passion as well; as she even wrote songs! In her later years she enjoyed her beloved companion, Kitty, as she worked on her crossword puzzles. One of her most prized possessions was a birthday card from JFK as she shared the same birthday.
Violet lived a long and wonderful life and enjoyed her many passions; her greatest being her family. She is survived by two daughters: Bonnie Pronschinske and Kathleen Nelson, both of Waumandee, WI. She was the grandmother of 7: Linda (Tom) Haney, Randy (Linda), Terry (Susan), Tammy, Tim (Audrey), Rick (Norma) and Scott Pronschinske. Violet also had 13 great grandchildren: Melissa (Brad) Modjeski, Jason (Marie) Passow, Kiley, Korey, Kayla, Kody, Randel, Marissa, Ricardo, Alicia, Ava, Alexis and Reece Pronschinske. She was also blessed to meet two of her great-great grandchildren; one is her name sake, Violet, and Faith Passow. She is also survived by one sister Shirley Pomeroy and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death are her husband, Peter Boltz, son-in-law Ray Pronschinske, sister and brother-in-law Alvina & Dave Adank., brother and sister-in-law Lavern & Shirley Kalina, brother, Raymond Kalina, brother-in-law Leonard Pomeroy and nephews Roger and Eugene Pomeroy.
While Violet has returned to her heavenly home she will remain a part of her earthly home in the hearts and memories of all of those she touched through a long and wonderful life.
