Theresa F. Korpal, 93, of Madison, and formerly of Arcadia, passed away on Saturday, August 14, 2021, at UW Hospital. Theresa was born in Arcadia, WI on July 16, 1928, to Michael and Anna (Suchla) Haines. She was united in marriage to Eugene Korpal on September 23, 1947, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Arcadia. Together the couple moved to the Milwaukee area and established a family in which they raised three daughters.
Theresa was best known for being the spunky bread-lady- baking countless amounts of delicious loaves for family, friends, and celebrations. Theresa loved family gatherings, whether large or small, as she truly enjoyed celebrating life’s blessings. Theresa loved gardening and operated the K & K Growers greenhouse alongside her husband, Eugene, where they grew many different varieties of flowers. Theresa was very talented and crafty, and it showed in her ceramics, sewing and embroidery. She was a perfectionist. She was an exceptional cook and was employed in different aspects of Food Service throughout her adult life. While her hard work ethic was evident, Theresa was also quite competitive when it came to playing cards or BINGO. She was always up for playing games and taking occasional trips to the casino. On days of quiet and calm, Theresa could be found watching birds, especially the cardinals and wrens outside of her window. Her quick wit and spunk will always be remembered by her family.
Theresa is survived by her daughters: Judith (Tom) Clifford of Mendota Heights, MN, Jane (Rick) Best of Brookfield, and Jo (Tony) Kern of Middleton; grandchildren: Kelly Wedel, Ann (Alex) Gonzaba, Angela (Mike) Johnson, Adrienne Best, Alexandra Kern and Noah Kern; and great-grandchildren: Claire and Cole Johnson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eugene; and her brothers and sisters.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 3 p.m. at Holy Family Parish with Father Sebastian Kolodziejczyk officiating. Family and friends are invited for visitation beginning at 2 p.m. until the time of mass at church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, rural Arcadia.
