Ruth Ann Weltzien, 83, of Arcadia died on Thursday, April 16, 2015, at Gundersen Tri-County Hospital in Whitehall, WI. Ruth was born on February 27, 1932, in Arcadia to Edmond and Esther (Pahl) Thimmesch. She graduated from Arcadia High School. On October 9, 1952, she married Gaylord Weltzien at St. John's Lutheran Church in Arcadia. Together they farmed in the township of Glencoe, WI. She was a loving and dedicated farm wife, mother, grandmother, and a wonderful cook. Ruth was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, the W.E.L.C.A. where she knitted over 100 baby sweaters for various church donations. She was an avid bowler; bowling on the Woman's League and Ma and Pa bowling. Ruth and Gaylord were also past members of the Glencoe Drifters Snowmobile Club. In her spare time Ruth enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and playing cards with the local card clubs.
Ruth is survived by her four sons: Randy (Cindy) Weltzien of Burlington, WI, Russ Weltzien of Arcadia, Dan (Carol) Weltzien of Arcadia, Keith (Karen) Weltzien of Arcadia; 8 grandchildren: Angela Weltzien, Jessica (Jake) Danmeier, Stephanie Weltzien, Matt Weltzien, Becca Weltzien, Collin Weltzien, Curtis Weltzien and Connor Weltzien; a cousin: Mary Ann Gabriel of Whitehall; sisters-in-law: Dorothy Sobotta, Janice (Rev. Ron) Walter, and Rosemary Weltzien. She was preceded in death by her husband: Gaylord on February 11, 2012.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, April 20, 2015, at 11:00 AM at Christ Lutheran Church with Intern Josh Knudsen and Rev. Ron Walter officiating. Friends may call on Sunday, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Wozney-Killian Funeral Home where there will be a 7:00 PM prayer service. They may also call on Monday from 10:00 AM until the time of services at the church. Burial will be in Glencoe Lutheran Cemetery, rural Arcadia, WI.
