Ruby Jean Maloney, our sweet and kind mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at Atrium Senior Living in Chetek, WI, on Monday, December 18, 2017, after a 2 year battle with leukemia.
Ruby was born on September 28, 1951, in Whitehall, WI, to Carlos and Vivian (Christ) Dorn. She grew up in Arcadia and graduated from Arcadia High School. She went to Cosmetology school and worked as a hairdresser in Arcadia for many years, first working with her mother, Vivian, then later on by herself in Ruby's Happy Hair Salon. She retired from Ashley Furniture in 2016, after working there for 23 years. She married Leroy Maloney on June 22, 1974. They later divorced.
She enjoyed bowling and spent many years bowling with her team and going to multiple state tournaments. She loved crafts and spent a lot of time on her sewing projects traveling around to different craft fairs to sell her creations. She enjoyed going to the casino, fishing for panfish, and traveling out west with Stanley, her honey of many years. She loved her family and her grandson, Aksel, with all her heart. He was the joy of her life.
Ruby is survived by son, Todd Maloney (Mona); grandson, Aksel Maloney; and sisters, Donna Chartier and Sue Knusalla. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carlos and Vivian Dorn; and her significant other, Stanley Kupietz.
