Roy A. Bork, 80, of Trempealeau, WI, died on Thursday, March 24, 2016, at Mayo Clinic Health System in La Crosse. Roy was born on November 10, 1935, in Fountain City, WI to Henry and Lillian (Ziegler) Bork.
Roy married Elene Tacke on October 16, 1954, at St. Martin's Lutheran Church in Winona. They later divorced. He then married Leah (Plank) Wendorf, on October 14, 2000, at Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church in La Crosse. Roy had worked for Bay State Milling, farmed, owned and operated the HillTop Bar and Ballroom, in rural Fountain City, and was a self-employed carpenter. He was a member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Trempealeau, had been the Town Chairman for the town of Milton, and President of the Concordia Ball Room. Roy loved to work and dance. Roy and Leah enjoyed four wheeling in South Dakota.
Roy is survived by his wife, Leah of Trempealeau; 4 children: Sondra (Michael) Merth of Turtle Lake, Susan (Ray) Kamrowski of Arcadia, Scott Bork of Fountain City, Sherry (Paul) Sievers of Forest Lake, MN; 2 step children: Debra (Mark) Boyke of Verona, WI and Alan (Alyson) Wendorf of De Forest, WI; 10 grandchildren: Jennifer (Larry) Solberg, Jason (special friend, Casey) Kamrowski, Justin (Monica) Kamrowski, Joshua (special friend, Becky) Kamrowski, Deidra Tuxen, Brandon (Patti) Bork, Amanda and Ariel Sievers, Katie Pflueger, Mitchell Merth; 10 great grandchildren; and 4 step grandchildren: Lindsey Boyke, Austin Boyke, Tyler (Liz) Wendorf, Nikkoleen Attewell; 4 step great grandchildren;1 sister: Rosalie Conrad of Winona; 1 brother: Earl (Betty) Bork of Stevens Point, WI, and 1 sister-in-law, Gail Bork of Alma. He was preceded in death by 1 brother: Glen Bork; and 1 brother-in-law: Melvin Conrad; 1 son-in-law: David Tuxen.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 29, 2016, at 11:00 AM at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Trempealeau, WI, with the Rev. Dana Jackson officiating. Friends may call on Monday from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church and then again from 10:00 AM until the time of services at the church on Tuesday. Burial will be in the Fountain City Public Cemetery in rural Fountain City, WI.
