Rose Marie Lund, 87, of Arcadia, WI died on Sunday, September 29, 2013, at Benedictine Health System of Arcadia. She was born on February 18, 1926, in Torpoint, Cornwall, England to Walter G. and Edith A. (Runyan) Davidge. She was educated in England at a private military school.
She married Vernon Curran and moved to the United States in 1946. Vernon died in 1964. She later married Harold C. Lund on November 20, 1966, in La Crosse, Harold died on Dec. 28, 1993.
Rose Marie was active at the Tamarack Lutheran Church, teaching Sunday school and being in the choir. She was a member of the Trempealeau Co. Mental Health Association; she worked at A.C. Johnson Co. in La Crosse as a secretary and an interior designer. Rose Marie was fondly known as the "Cat Lady". She raised purebred Persians, Himalayans, and Coon cats. She sold her cats across the country. She sold a pair of cats to California for the TV commercial for Fancy Feast. She also judged cats at the Trempealeau Co. Fair and at the State level. She was awarded many ribbons and trophies for her cats. Rose Marie also had a business called Cornerstone Crafts where she sewed doll clothes, quilts, tree skirts, and did many other crafts.
Rose Marie is survived by her sons: Richard (Pauline) Curran of England, Kenneth Curran of Trempealeau; daughter-in-law: Cathy Lund of Arcadia; special friend: Geneva Bryhn of Ettrick; 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands, 2 sisters: Dorothy Davidge and Elizabeth "Betty" (Ray) Bullock; brother: George Davidge; sons: Michael and Robert (Sandy) Curran, and a great granddaughter: Rosemary Curran.
