Robert F. "Booby" Schaefer, 65, of Arcadia died on Monday, January 13, 2014, at Gundersen Tri County Memorial Hospital in Whitehall, WI, with his family by his side.
Robert was born on February 20, 1948, in Arcadia to Norman and Darleen (Sass) Schaefer. He graduated from Arcadia High School and Western Wisconsin Technical College. He served in the United States Air Force in Vietnam from 1966 to 1970. He was a life member of the VFW Post 10671, Tickfer-Erickson Legion Post 17 and Catholic Order of Foresters. Bob had been employed as a carpenter and at Nelson Muffler in Arcadia. He was also a member of Holy Family Parish.
Robert is survived by his mother: Darleen Schaefer of Arcadia; one brother: Richard (Corinne) Schaefer of River Falls; one sister: Judy (Barry) Biskey of Eau Claire; three nephews: Tim (Bridget) Schaefer of River Falls, Todd (Selena) Schaefer of Hudson, Travis (Natasha) Schaefer of River Falls; one great nephew: Brodie; two nieces: Kylie and Jayden Schaefer. He was preceded in death by his father, Norman on Jan. 21, 2009.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2014, from 10:30 AM until 12:30 PM at the Wozney-Killian Funeral Home. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in the spring, Rev. James Schaefer will be assisting the family with services. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial to "Family Wishes".
