Robert P. Pyka, 69, of Arcadia died on Thursday, February 28, 2013, at his home. Robert was born on February 24, 1944, in Arcadia to Peter P. and Marion (Shepherd) Pyka. He graduated from Arcadia High School and attended one year of college. He was a member Holy Family Parish; his was a manager for the United States Postal Service in Milwaukee for 35 years. Bob served in the US Army from 1965 to 1969, during the Viet Nam Conflict. He was an avid sports fan, of local athletics, Packers, Brewers, avid golfer; but fishing was his passion like his father.
Bob is survived by his sister, Jane Ann Pyka of Milwaukee, brother Thomas (Barbe) Pyka of Arcadia, nephews Nicholas (Jennifer) of Cridersville, OH, Brandon of Trempealeau, niece Jenna of Eau Claire. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Jim.
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, March 4, 2013, at Holy Family Parish at 11:00 AM, with Father Raj officiating. Friends may call one hour before services at the church. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, with military rites by Tickfer-Erickson Legion Post 17 and the VFW Post 10671.
