Neil Bremer

Neil Leo Bremer, 85 of Waumandee, WI passed away on December 1, 2015, at his home. He was born in Winona, MN on May 25, 1930, to Henry and Norma (Paradowski) Bremer. He graduated in 1948 from Arcadia High School and farmed with his dad. On August 26, 1952, he married Charlotte Ruth Hansen at St. Boniface Church in Waumandee. In 1953, Neil and Charlotte purchased his grandfather, Leo Paradowski's farm. This farm became a Century Farm in 2015.
Neil was an avid hunter and fisherman, going out West and also to Canada. Neil was a lifetime member of the NRA, having hunted for 72 years; even getting a buck at the age of 82.
Neil was well known within the community. Neil served on the Garden Valley Creamery Board, Montana Town Board and Waumandee-Montana Fire Department. He also served on the Board of Directors for the Waumandee State Bank for 12 years. For 15 years Neil was a County Delegate to Conservation Congress. In 2009, the Buffalo County Conservation Club recognized Neil for his lifetime of dedicated services to Buffalo County and the State of Wisconsin. Neil was a lifetime member of the Waumandee and Alma Rod and Gun Clubs. He enjoyed the years he played on the Waumandee basketball and softball team and time spent with friends. He was extremely active at St. Boniface Church and served for many years as an usher. In addition, he was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the National Farmers Organization.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Charlotte; their 7 children; Therese (Dave) Rude, Greg (Pam) Bremer, Brian (Jane) Bremer, Mary (Dave) Kenitz, James (Lisa) Bremer, Joyce (Drew) Meyer, and Bill (Amy) Bremer; 20 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Norma (Paradowski) Bremer; brother, Rodney Bremer and sister-in-law, Lillian (Olson) Bremer.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, December 7 at 11:00 AM, with Fr. Brian Jazdzewsk i officiating, at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Waumandee. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 6, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at St. Boniface Catholic Church, with a 6:00 PM prayer service, they may also call from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM. Burial will take place at St. Boniface Cemetery. The family has requested memorials be directed to; Waumandee Fire Dept. and EMT or the Winona Polish Museum.
