Michael Kirtley

Michael Jason Kirtley, 45, of Black River Falls, passed away unexpectedly on February 25, 2025. Born on April 10, 1979, in Aurora, Illinois, Mike was a genuinely kind-hearted soul who brought joy to everyone around him. He had a passion for nature, enjoying hiking, fishing trips, and kayaking. Mike was known for his grilling skills-his grilled chicken was the best!

He enjoyed moments spent with his sister, flying kites and cracking open a cold beer. He loved surprising his loved ones with gifts. Most of all, Michael loved nothing more than spending time with his kids, often playing online games with them.

Though he faced his challenges, Mike was dedicated to working toward a brighter future. He found joy in his job at Gimis', where he loved his coworkers and the cheesecake.

Mike is truly irreplaceable, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Mike is survived by his children, Aiden and Aliyah Kirtley; mother, Virginia (Agron) Imeri; siblings, Kristin Carty, Heather Owens, Danny Owens, and Chloe Owns; uncle, Steve Kirtley; stepbrother, Estat Imeri; stepfather, Dan Owens; step-grandparents, Fatima and Admin Imeri; and step-uncle Cazim Imeri.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert and Mildred Kirtley; aunt, Donna Hailey; and sister, Brianna Owens.

A celebration of Mike's life will take place at a later date. Wozney-Killian Funeral Home, Arcadia, is assisting his family.
