Michael T. "Mick" Fernholz 55, of Fountain City, WI, died on Saturday, October 10, 2015, at his home. Michael was born on October 6, 1960, in Arcadia to Cleon "Choker" and Mary Lou (Reuter) Fernholz. He graduated from Arcadia High School in 1979 and went on to earn a Bachelors of Science Degree from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.
Mick was an avid outdoorsman: hunting, fishing, and trapping. He was a lifetime member of the Wisconsin Trappers Association and the NRA. He entered many fishing tournaments and traveled out west for hunting trips. He had worked at Nelson Muffler in Arcadia and Advanced Laser in Chippewa Falls. During Mick's high school days he participated in track, football, basketball, and wrestling. His track record has not been broken.
Mick is survived by his mother: Mary Lou Fernholz of Arcadia; 3 sisters: Nancy (Mike) Cole of Naperville, IL, Barbara (Brian) Masyga of Winona, MN, and Susie (Steve) Scharlau of Fountain City, WI; nieces and nephews: Kristi and Laura Cole, Nick, Matt and Scott Masyga, Paul, Brad and Karen Scharlau. He was preceded in death by his father: Choker Fernholz.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, October 14, 2015, at 11:00 AM at Holy Family Parish in Arcadia, with Rev. Sebastian Kolodziejczyk officiating. Friends may call from 9:00 AM until the time of services at Holy Family Parish. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Honorary urn bearers will be: Rusty Severson, Joe Lakey, Jimmy Kokott, Mike Gunderson and Kevin Roesler.
