Martha R. Hansen, 101, of Galesville and formerly Arcadia passed away on Wednesday December 12, 2018, at Marinuka Manor Nursing Home in Galesville, WI.
Martha was born on April 17,1917, in Independence, WI. to Peter and Sophie (Marsoloek) Bautch. Martha attended school in Independence. Martha married Hubert Joseph Hansen at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Arcadia. They farmed in the Town of Montana before moving to Arcadia. Martha was a member of St. Anne Society and volunteered at St. Joseph's Hospital and Nursing Home for 30 years. Martha was one of the first original seven employees of Arcadia Furniture in 1970, now known as Ashley Furniture. As a faithful employee she missed one day in 30 years of employment. In her free time, Martha spent doing needle-pointing, quilting, and visiting her children: Donald (Janina) Lakewood, WA, DuWaine (Sylvia) Sterling Ak, Richard (Sandra) Barrington, IL, Dennis (Karen) Hanover Park, IL, Carole (Michael) Read Oklahoma City, Ok.
Martha is survived by 9 grand-children,13 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death husband: Hubert, son: DuWaine, brothers: Lloyd, Ernest, Edward, sisters: Lucy (Frank) Kupietz, Florence (Edward) Hauer, Patricia, Kathryn (Winfred) Smallwood, sister: Delores, brothers: Peter, Raymond in infancy.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, December 17, 2018, at 11:00 AM.at Holy Family Parish with Rev. Kyle Laylan officiating. Friends and family may call from 10:00 AM until 11:00 Am on Monday at the church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, rural Arcadia.
