Margaret Rita Gandyra, 74, of Arcadia died peacefully at home under the care of Gundersen Home Hospice on Wednesday, November 24, 2021.
Margaret was born in Winona on February 27, 1947, to Elmer and Lucille (Schollmeier) Wolfe. After graduating from high school, Margaret was employed as a bookkeeper for Garden Valley Feed Store and Creamery until meeting her husband, Ken. She was united in marriage to Kenneth Gandyra at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Waumandee on July 11, 1970. Together the couple farmed side by side in rural Arcadia, raising dairy and beef. Though Margaret enjoyed living her life simply, she was a hard worker on the farm where she took care of the calves, feeding, and field work. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, sewing and crocheting. Ken and Margaret found enjoyment in traveling with their daughter and grandchildren every year to many states and attractions west of the Mississippi, especially to Yellowstone National Park. Margaret enjoyed taking rides in the countryside and visits from her pride and joys, her grandchildren. Even though her cancer was aggressive, she was able to travel to see her brother in Arizona one last time- a memory her family will cherish forever.
Margaret is survived by her husband of 51 years, Ken; daughter: Rosa Mooney; grandchildren: Isabelle, Olivia and Robert Mooney; sisters: Alice Glenzinski and Jean (Ed) Buchholz; brothers: Alan (Carol) Wolfe and William "Bill" (Nancy) Wolfe; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son: James Kenneth; brother: Robert (Darlene) Wolfe; and brother-in-law: John Glenzinski.
A funeral service for Margaret will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 27, 2021, at Bethel Lutheran Church with Pastor Jon Cox officiating. Family and friends are welcome for visitation one hour prior to the service at church. Burial will be in St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery, North Creek, rural Arcadia.
