Margaret Ann Auer, 100, of Galesville, WI and formerly of Arcadia, WI died Friday September 1, 2017, at Marinuka Manor in Galesville, WI.
Margaret was born on December 3, 1916 to Frank and Frances (Kampa) Slaby in Arcadia, WI. She graduated from Arcadia High School. Margaret played the piano, was very active in the Church, and volunteered at St. Joseph's Hospital in Arcadia for many years.
Margaret married LaVern Auer on September 29, 1937, in Arcadia and had three children.
Margaret is survived by: a son, Wayne (Kathie) Auer of Galesville, WI; a daughter, Nancy Smick of Galesville, WI; a daughter-in-law Clarina (Lena) Auer of California; a sister-in-law, Loretta Slaby of Arcadia, WI; 11 grandchildren: Todd, Bruce, Debbie, Douglas, Natalie, Tammy, Daniel, Colleen, Beth, Tim, and Tracy; 21 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Margaret is preceded in death by her parents; husband, LaVern; son, James; a brother, Everett Slaby; son-in-law, Mark Smick; and a brother-in-law, Eugene Auer.
Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Monday, September 11, 2017, at Holy Family Parish in Arcadia with a rosary at 10:45 AM. The Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 AM. Rev. Sebastian Kolodziejczyk will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
The family would also like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff of Marinuka Manor plus all the friends and relatives who came to visit Margaret at the nursing home.
