Linda L. Halverson, 57, of Galesville, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side in the early morning of Saturday, August 1, 2020.
Linda was born in Arcadia on February 24, 1963, to Paul and Ruth (Kujak) Jaszewski and was raised in Dodge. She attended Arcadia High School and graduated with the Class of 1981. After graduation, Linda met and married the love of her life Todd Halverson at Zion Lutheran Church in Galesville on October 12, 1985. Together the couple welcomed and raised their beautiful daughter, Danielle. For many years, Linda was employed with Metz Baking Company, working her way all the way to District Manager. At one time, she was responsible for daily operations of five separate plant locations. In her younger years, Linda enjoyed playing slow pitch bar league softball with her sisters. Those five Jaszweski girls were a force to be reckoned with, and Linda was known for her aggressive outfield abilities. The bond she shared with her siblings proved strong long after their ball playing days, as Linda loved to support every one of their business endeavors and establishments. Even after complications with Multiple Sclerosis forced her to end her "day job", Linda was a very active volunteer with many different foundations and fundraisers. Each year, Linda looked forward to attending the WACO convention as their star raffle seller. She also volunteered at countless events for the Gilbert Brown Foundation, and raised thousands of dollars over the years for MS support and research. Her big heart and tenacity for life proved forever stronger than the hurdles and obstacles she fought and overcame.
Linda's dreams came true when she was promoted from "Mom" to "Grandma" with the arrival of her pride and joy, Harper Leigh, in April 2019. She loved being a grandma, and it was evident that it was her favorite "job" she's ever had. And Harper loves her "Nana" just as much. In recent years when mobility became more difficult, Linda enjoyed bird watching, playing BINGO, random trips to the casino to play KENO, and riding shotgun in the golf cart while Todd played a game of golf on a sunny day. Luckily, playing cards was an activity she never had to give up, and could be found participating in a game whenever her family got together. Most of all, Linda loved spending time with her family and friends that became family. She was a loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend, who will be truly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
She leaves behind her husband of almost 35 years, Todd; daughter, Danielle (David) Todd of Galesville; granddaughter, Harper; sisters: Lori (Rick) Severson, Lisa Black, Mary (Mike) Hauser, and Bonnie (Mickey) Wood; brother John (Maureen) Jaszewski; father and mother-in-law: Gary and Lois Halverson of Trempealeau; sisters-in-law: Lisa (Larry Tamke) Halverson and Leah (Larry) Gilbertson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.
Due to the extenuating circumstances surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, a celebration of life will be held for Linda at a later date. To express condolences to her family online and for further service updates, please visit www.wozneykillianfh.com.
