LeRoy Francis Maloney, age 73, caught the train heading to heaven on Sunday, April 3, 2016. He was born on July 14, 1942, in Arcadia, WI, to George and Mary (Urbick) Maloney. The younger brother of his sister LuAnn, and brother Vernon.
He was married and divorced from Joan Konsela and Ruby Dorn. He lived his entire life in Arcadia. He attended Arcadia Public Schools where he continued through the 8th grade. Although his education was short, his intelligence was not. He was a smart man who could fix and build anything. His preciseness with a measuring tape and his tools was a great talent. He enjoyed woodworking and built many things over the years, from cedar chests, to gun cabinets, and toy boxes for the grandkids. LeRoy's other hobby was the model railroad. He spent many hours tinkering upstairs where his train tracks went around the room and through the walls. His love for trains would also take him on many family train rides throughout Wisconsin and over into Canada. He enjoyed his train ride with Ashley Furniture from Arcadia to Marshland each year. LeRoy started working at Arcadia Industries, which became Ashley Furniture, and stayed there for over 50 years. He recently retired in December 2015.
He was very proud of his children and grandchildren. He will be missed by his daughter: Joelle (Terry) Comero; and son: Todd (Mona) Maloney. Also his grandchildren: Craig (Lindsey), Tucker, Keaton, and Aksel. His great grandchildren: Elsie and Nash. He is also survived by nieces: Laurel (Qualley) Runkel, and Lisa (Maloney) Parkhurst; nephews: Bruce Maloney, Brian Maloney, and Will Qualley.
LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents, his sister and brother-in-law: LuAnn and Jennings Qualley, his brother: Vernon Maloney, and nephews: John Qualley and Jim Qualley.
