LaVerne Joseph Grulkowski, 86, of Arcadia died on Tuesday, November 24, 2015, at his home. He was born on July 26, 1929, in Waumandee, Buffalo County, WI to Stephen and Monica (Killian) Grulkowski.
LaVerne married Mary Lou Gibbons on September 15, 1952, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pine Creek. Together Mary Lou and LaVerne farmed on River Valley Road. He was a member of Holy Family Parish in Arcadia, a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters. LaVerne loved old time music, dancing, playing cards with Mary Lou, Darlene, Harold and Joyce. Most of all he enjoyed keeping his yard mowed, neat and tidy. He spent many hours working outside and riding his riding lawn mower.
La Verne is survived by his wife Mary Lou of Arcadia; sons: Ron (Pat) Grulkowski, Mike(Vicky) Grulkowski, Bill Grulkowski all of Arcadia; 4 grandchildren: Jeff (Jessy) Grulkowski, Brad (Darcy) Grulkowski, Brian Grulkowski, Shelly (Brian) Boldon; 2 great grandchildren: Alec and Kali Grulkowski; a sister: Sister Mary Stephanie "Darlene" Grulkowski of Peoria, IL; brothers: James (Dorothy) Grulkowski of Independence, Robert (Jan) Grulkowski of Franklin, Dennis (Rita) Grulkowski of Franklin, Edward Grulkowski of Arcadia, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother: Donald.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, November 28, 2015, at 11:00 AM at Holy Family Parish in Arcadia with the Rev. Sebastian Kolodziejczyk officiating. Friends may call on Friday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Wozney-Killian Funeral Home where there will be a 7:00 PM Rosary. They may also call on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of services at the church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, rural Arcadia.
