Kevin John Schreiber, 55, of Arcadia, WI passed away from cancer at his home with his mother, Bernell and Aunt and Uncle, Ted and Shirley Gierok by his side, on April 26, 2014. The family, along with many friends and neighbors has lost a wonderful human being.
Kevin was born October 26, 1958, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Arcadia, WI, son of Donald and Bernell (Gierok) Schreiber. He enjoyed deer hunting on the Curly Schwanke land, fishing, and music, TV, reading USA Today, Keno, the Golf machine, his Green Bay Packers, and spending time with friends.
He graduated from Arcadia High School in 1977. Kevin worked over thirty-four years with Stained Glass companies of Winona as a glazier, and traveled to many states for work.
He will be reunited in Heaven with his dad, Donnie; grandparents: John and Anna Gierok, and Albert and Helen Schreiber; uncles Jerome Gierok, Edward P. Giemza, Merlin Feltes, and aunt Marjorie Feltes.
Kevin is survived by his mom, Bernell Schreiber of Arcadia; godparents, Ted and Shirley Gierok of Winona; aunts: Joyce Giemza of Blair, Shirley (Jerome) Gierok of Winona; uncle, Bud (Anita) Gierok of Florida; close friend, Tim Peterson of Arcadia; cousins, and a host of many other friends.
The family wishes to thank the Mayo Clinic Health System-Franciscan Healthcare, including Paul Winey, PA-C, and the oncology staff, all that assisted Kevin with rides to La Crosse, especially Jaz, phone calls and well wishes. Kevin lived to make others happy, always greeting you with a smile, and touched the hearts of many. His life was interrupted, but while he was on this earth he embraced the opportunities and the chance to experience life with open arms. He fought this battle to the very end and will be greatly missed.
Graveside services will be held on Sunday, June 29, 2014, at 1:30 PM at St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery in rural Arcadia," North Creek", WI with Rev. Sebastian Kolodziejczyk officiating. Lunch will be served after the committal at JR Sport/Jaz on the Tracks, 220 W. Main St. Arcadia.
