Jo Anne Lisowski

April 22, 1943 — April 19, 2025

Jo Anne M. Lisowski, 81, of Arcadia, died peacefully on Saturday, April 19, 2025, in her home.

Jo Anne was born on April 22, 1943, to Palmer and Margie (Christenson) Scow. On August 8, 1964, she married Andrew P Lisowski at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church and together had two children, Debra and Daniel. Jo Anne shared a devoted marriage of 60 years with Andrew.

Jo Anne and her husband built a family that brought them immense pride and joy. They lived on a family farm in Independence until they moved to Arcadia in 1996. Jo Anne also worked at the St. Joseph's Hospital in Arcadia for several years until an illness in 2006. After recovering from that illness, she volunteered at St. Joseph's Hospital.

Jo Anne loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren who will be her legacy for many years to come. You could literally see her face light up any time family visited but particularly so when she was able to have visits with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Another past time Jo Anne enjoyed was spending time taking care of their housecat, Herbie, and working on puzzles, whether it be a jigsaw puzzle or crossword or search words.

Both Jo Anne and her loving husband took pride in how their home looked. They spent countless hours planting in their yard which was always immaculate and beautiful.

Jo Anne is survived by her children, Debra and Daniel (Joleen); grandchildren, Katelyn (Kyle) Kulig, Cassandra Sonsalla, Kylie Goetting, Phil (Crissy) Lisowski, Nick (Ashley) Lisowski, Jordan (Alexis) Lisowski, and Jake (Cassy) Lisowski; 11 great-grandchildren; siblings, Gene (Sherri) Scow, Milton (Carol) Scow, Diane (Jerry) Enger, Jane (Scott) Barron, Judy Pellowski (Jerry Schultz), Mike (Sue) Scow, Bruce (Sandra) Scow, Randy Scow, and Ron Scow; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Doris (Alvin) Douglas and Sandra Rickabaugh; and granddaughter, Megan Sonsalla.
