Herman P. Misch, age 90, of Arcadia joined his family in heaven after passing away on Saturday, June 9, 2018, at Gundersen Tri-County care Center in Whitehall where he had made many friends the short time he was there.
Herman was born April 13, 1928, to Paul and Katherine (Bisek) Misch in Arcadia. Herman went to school in Arcadia through the 12th grade. He served in the Air Force from December 24, 1948, to September 23, 1952, as a senior aircraft mechanic. He was honorably discharged.
After the Air Force he went on to the Engineering Institute in Chicago, were he completed classes in Diesel Training & Scientific Motor Tune up and received his diploma. Herman worked at Murphy Diesel in Milwaukee, Hot Point Company in Milwaukee a gas and diesel engine repair shop, Eckel Implement in Arcadia for many years, Northern Engraving in Galesville. He was a custodian at St. Stanislaus Church and caretaker at St. Stanislaus Cemetery. He enjoyed farming his land in Arcadia and had a turkey barn, with three stories of big white turkeys. Herman enjoyed motorcycling and the operations of Ham Radios. He loved being outside working on his tractors and equipment to keep it in top running order. Herman had his pilots license and enjoyed flying a small engine plane that was kept here in Arcadia and was a member of a flying club with many others.
Herman is survived by Nieces and Nephews: Jerry (Sherry Reck) Haines, Wayne (Pam) Haines, Gary (Paula) Haines, Anne (Dale) Sonsalla, Bill (Barb) Kokott, Dennis (Ellen) Kokott and Lynn Kokott. Herman was preceded in death by: his parents, sisters: Dorothy, Angeline, and Clotilda and brothers: Edmund and Bernard.
Friends may call from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Thursday, June 14, 2018, at Holy Family Parish. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday at Holy Family Parish. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus cemetery in rural Arcadia. Wozney-Killian Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
