Franklin N. Molitor Sr., 83, of Winona, MN and formerly of Arcadia, WI died on Tuesday, December 13, 2016, at Gundersen surrounded by his family. Franklin was born on June 12, 1933, in Arcadia to Stephen and Genevieve (Breyer) Molitor. He was married to Kathy (Feuling) Molitor and they later divorced. They shared 4 children together. He married Susan Ives on March 26, 1977, in Winona, MN and they shared 5 children together. Franklin served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, stationed in Korea. Franklin was a library of information and to say he was a jack of all trades would be an understatement. In the summers you could find him in the garden, chopping wood, on the farm, or fixing something for someone. In the winters, you could find him shoveling snow for the neighborhood or fixing a snow blower for someone. He loved to lend a hand to anyone that needed it. The years he spent farming and turning wrenches could be seen in his massive, calloused hands. Franklin loved to share stories and could talk the ear off of anyone. He was not one to be wasteful; being frugal was in his blood.
Franklin is survived by his wife: Susan Molitor of Winona; children: Carol (Todd) Schmieg of Houston, Lynn (Kevin) Allen of Cedar Valley, Lora Molitor (Scott) of Winona, Raymond (Kris) Molitor of Winona, Shanie (Jeff) Grant of Fountain City, Candes Stiever (Desi) of Winona, Shannon Hundt (Sean) of Utica, Jennifer (Jason) Quarberg of Winona, Franklin Molitor Jr. of Galesville; siblings: Lambert (Cheryl) Molitor of Gilmanton, Eymard (Mary) Molitor of Arcadia, Patricia (Bud) Sobotta of Fountain City, Genevieve Eichman of Galesville, Ellen Schlesser of Winona; 28 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings: Catherine Schaub, Virginia Anderson, Caroline Klonecki, Geraldine Kujak, and Stephen Molitor, and granddaughter Katie Hornberg.
