Doris Matchey

Doris H. Matchey, 81, of Whitehall, WI, passed away on Saturday, September 19, 2020, at Gundersen Tri-County Care Center in Whitehall. Doris was born on December 9, 1938, to Vernon and Florence (Mueller) Buchholz.

Doris met the love of her life, Edward J. Matchey, and they married on June 15, 1957, at St. Michael's Catholic Church in North Creek, WI. To this union 5 children joined their family. Doris and Ed farmed. She milked cows, drove tractor, cared for her garden and her family. She was an amazing cook. Doris and Ed also enjoyed snowmobiling.

Doris is survived by her husband, Ed, of 63 years, of Whitehall; children: Kathy (Rob Jones) Annibal of Blair, Lori (Randy Beckwith) Matchey of Chicago, Todd Matchey of Independence, Tamara "Tami" (Lawrence Schrock) Matchey of Blair, and Lisa (Richard) Schank of Kenosha; grandchildren: Jacob (Olivia Krahn-Bockhop) Labatore, Justin Labatore, Austin (Courtney Rosecke) Matchey, Jordan Matchey, Mercedes Matchey, and Jayden Matchey; 5 siblings: Roger (Marietta) Buchholz of Harmony, MN, Beatrice (Donald) Suchla of Arcadia, Lucille Pientok of Winona, MN, Lavina Anderson of Hampshire, IL, and LaVonne Eggebrecht of Gillett, WI. She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Rosvil Laehn; siblings: Emil Buchholz, Richard (Jeanette) Buchholz, Barbara Schwartz, Jean (Milford) Herman; brothers-in-law: Leonard Pientok, Orlyn Anderson, and Louis Eggebrecht.

Due to Covid-19, a graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 3, 2020, at St. Michael's Cemetery in North Creek with Rev. Sebastian Kolodziejczyk officiating. The family will greet friends and family with a visitation from 10:00 to 11:00 at the cemetery.
