Donna Marie Kamrowski, 63, of Winona shed her earthly limitations and made a graceful exit from her home at Lake Winona Manor on December 6, 2023. She was born on June 4th, 1960, in Winona MN, the oldest of six children born to Sylvester and Vivien Kamrowski.
Donna attended Arcadia Catholic School and Arcadia High School, graduating in 1978. Following high school, Donna attended Winona Area Technical Institute, receiving a Top Achievement Award in the Medical Clerk Typist Program. Being highly independent and ambitious, she moved to Minneapolis, where she worked for the University of Minnesota. In 1982, Donna moved to San Diego, where she was employed as an Executive Secretary with General Dynamics and earned multiple commendations for her
dedication, enthusiasm, and integrity. She was very bright and extremely organized, enabling her to excel in college courses while working full-time. As her Multiple Sclerosis progressed, she moved back to Arcadia in 1999.
Donna was preceded in death by her mother, Vivien (Johnson) Kamrowski, her grandparents Milton and Ella Johnson and Stanley and Catherine Kamrowski, her loving niece, Katie Johnson and her precious nephew, Eldon Kamrowski as well as many beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She is survived by her father, Sylvester Kamrowski, siblings Diane Johnson, Jo Ann Alvarez, Carol Hilleshiem, Jill (Jeremy) Quandt, and Chuck (Sara) Kamrowski, and two generations of nieces and nephews: Gregory and Asia Johnson, Mathias Risler, Novalyn, Sage, and Willow Alvarez, Emma and Ella Hilleshiem, Addy and Aiden Quandt, Chance, Chayton, Chyncia and Chase Kamrowski, Marcelina Rebolledo, Alex Johnson, Sophia Prokop and Veta Curran. She is also survived by aunts and uncles Albert Kamrowski, Dave and Deb Johnson, and Marilyn and Bill Dick and many cousins.
Donna will be remembered for her incredible sense of humor and sassy one-liners, her favorites being "Uff Da" and "Classy." A visit to her was guaranteed to be entertaining as she loved to make people laugh and appropriateness was not her top concern. Her quick wit endured to the end. For the past twenty years she was lovingly cared for by first the staff at the Arcadia Nursing Home and then Lake Winona Manor. She had a special relationship with her youngest sister Jill, who selflessly oversaw her care and spent countless hours at her bedside. The family owes a wealth of gratitude for the sacrifices made by the Quandt family during Donna's final years and especially the last several
months.
Services will be held at Sacred Heart Church in Pine Creek, Wisconsin on Thursday, December 14th. Visitation will be at 9:30 with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 and interment immediately following at the church cemetery.
