Dolores Slaby, 93, of Arcadia died Sunday, December 16, 2018, at Grand View Care Center in Blair, WI.
Dolores was born February 13, 1925, in Arcadia Township, Trempealeau County to George and Anna (Passon) Slabik. She married Vincent Slaby on October 25, 1943, at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Independence.
She and Vincent farmed for many years until retiring to the City of Arcadia. She will be remembered for the many years she cleaned, painted and wallpapered for area people and continued this work into her 80's. She was a member of Holy Family and the PCCW. Dolores enjoyed sharing her homemade bread, occasional trips to the casino and loved tending to her flowers. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Survivors include four children: Frank (Barb) Slaby, Sue (Dennis) Kiehl, Mike (Mary) Slaby and Pat (Mary) Slaby; 12 grandchildren: Nick (Holly Mohr) Slaby, Mark Slaby, Dylan (Leah) Slaby, Shane (Becky) Tiedje, Laurie Zastrow, Lisa Ferguson, Andrea (Jeff Hartwick) Kiehl, Anthony (Amy) Slaby, Noah (Sarah) Slaby, Kathryn (Ron) Peterson, Kendra (Jeremy) Rupp, and Tyler (Pam Stellenberg) Slaby; 27 great-grandchildren; and 2 sisters-in-law, Irene Slabik and Sandy Slabik.
Dolores was preceded in death by her husband; son, Anthony "Tony" Slaby; sister, Esther Kampa; and brothers: Raymond, Donald, and Clarence Slabik.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 21, 2018, at Holy Family Parish with Father Sebastian Kolodziejczyk officiating. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, December 20, 2018, at the Wozney-Killian Funeral Home where there will be a 7 p.m. prayer service, and also one hour prior to the service at church on Friday.
