David Pierzina

December 16, 1941 — March 25, 2020

David "Dave" R. Pierzina, 78, of Arcadia, passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2020, at Gundersen-Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse.

Dave was born in Arcadia on December 16, 1941, to Rudolph and Rose (Klimek) Pierzina.

After graduating from Arcadia High School with the class of 1960, he hauled canned milk with his dad, Rudy. Dave was united in marriage to Marjorie Marsolek by Father Edmund Klimek on November 6, 1965, at Saints Peter and Paul's Catholic Church in Independence. Dave was a member of Holy Family Parish, Woodmen of the World, Knights of Columbus and served on the Arcadia Catholic School Board. He enjoyed deer hunting, watching football and baseball, picking berries and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Together with his wife and four children, he was a successful farmer of hogs, dairy, beef, and crops. He was a proud and dedicated farmer for over 50 years, and after retiring, enjoyed helping his son farm. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

Dave is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Marjorie of Arcadia; son: Brian (Valerie) Pierzina of Trempealeau; daughters: Terri (Daniel) Ammann of Arcadia, Cindi (Andrew) Aasen of Holmen, and Shari (Todd) Werwinski of Onalaska; grandchildren: Sara (Dalton) Yohnk, Megan (Brian Mecey) Ammann, Zachary (Sierra Friske) Aasen, Justin (Audrey Ottenberg) Aasen, and David and John Werwinski; great-grandson: Preston Yohnk; brother: Allen (Annette) Pierzina of Arcadia; and numerous other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 4, 2020, at Holy Family Catholic Church with Father Kyle Laylan officiating. Family and friends are welcome for visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at church. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Catholic Cemetery, Arcadia at a later date.
