Bernetta M. Haines, 95, of Arcadia died on Monday, April 6, 2015 at Grand View Care Center in Blair. Bernetta was born on December 5, 1919 in the township of Glencoe, WI to Joseph and Gertrude (Pronschinske) Rotering. She married Severin Haines on September 28, 1943, at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Waumandee. Together, Bernetta and Serverin farmed in the town of Arcadia. She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church and St. Anne's Rosary Society, Holy Family Parish and the PCCW. Bernetta had transported the elderly, loved to bake and do canning. Her family was the most important thing in her life. When she was a resident at St. Joseph's Nursing Home she did the daily announcements and loved to visit.
Bernetta is survived by her daughter: Jean (James) Forsythe of Arcadia; 2 grandsons: Albert (Melanie) Kolstad of Waumandee, Allyn (Kimberly) Kolstad of Arcadia; 5 great grandchildren: Rylee, Jaicee, Benjamin, Allyson and Mason Kolstad; sister: Marian (William) Cavenaugh of St. Charles, IL; brothers: Mathias Rotering of Independence, Sylvester (Nona) Rotering of Winona. She was preceded in death by her husband: Severin on Jan. 16, 1991; brother: Jerome Rotering Sr.; sisters: Sister Josette Rotering and Florence Nelson.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, April 9, 2015, at 12:30 PM, at Holy Family Parish in Arcadia with Rev. Sebastian Kolodziejczyk and Rev. Adam Mc Millian officiating. Friends may call on Wednesday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Wozney-Killian Funeral Home where there will be a 7:30 PM prayer service followed by a rosary. They may also call on Thursday from 11:30 AM until the time of services at the church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, rural Arcadia.
