Ardell Hanson

Ardell Marvin Hanson Sr., 91, of Pepin and formerly of Arcadia died at his home on Tuesday, February 24, 2015. Ardell was born on October 20, 1923, in the Town of Arcadia to Arthur and Gertrude (Ruff) Hanson. He served in WW II, where he received a Purple Heart. Ardell was a truck driver and had owned and operated the Transport Bar in Bloomer, WI. He married Carmen Andre, on September 20, 1943, in Arcadia, she died on January 17, 1958, and he later married Murlee Myers, on July 6, 1958, in Belle Fourche, South Dakota.
Ardell is survived by 2 sons: Robert Hanson of Woodville, WI, William (Judy) Hanson of Dodge, WI; 1 brother: Gaylord Hanson of Pigeon Falls, WI; 12 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wives: Carmen and Murlee; son: Ardell "Sonny" Hanson Jr.; daughter: Judy Helgeson; granddaughter: Jennifer Nicole Hanson; 2 sisters: Verna Gilbertson and Lilah Klink.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2015, at 3:00 PM at Christ Lutheran Church in Arcadia with Rev. Peter Jonas officiating. Friends may call on Saturday from 2:00 PM until the time of services at the church. Burial will be in the Arcadia Public Cemetery, with Military Rites by Tickfer-Erickson Legion Post 17.
