Albin (Al) Joseph Slaby, 74, of Buffalo City, WI peacefully passed with his family by his side on June 24th, 2016. Al was born March 3, 1942, to Herman and Lucille (Kampa) Slaby in Arcadia, WI. Al was a graduate of Arcadia High School where he excelled in football. Through the years Al worked for Arcadia Co-op, Mid-Am and Plainview Dairy. Al had a passion for watching area sporting events; this interest began at a young age and continued through life. Al cherished his family and friends, the joy of his life was his children and grandchildren. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, and sportsman. Al perfected the art of "three beers" flip-flop chicken and spent many years proudly grilling chicken for Arcadia Broiler Days. Al married Judy (Eichman) Slaby in 1965, they had two children, Jeff and Jenny, before her passing in 1992. Al married Nancy (Woychik/Pronschinske) September 18th, 1994. Together they enjoyed living in Buffalo City along the Mississippi River. Al is survived by his wife Nancy, son Jeff (Kris) Slaby, daughter Jenny (Jim) Kampa , step-son Matt (Liz) Pronschinske, step-daughter Marsha (TJ) Tweedy, 13 grandchildren, one great grandchild and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his siblings Mary (Rinell) Brown, Marge (Bill) Pelowski , Donald Slaby. Al was preceded in death by his first wife Judy and his parents.
Visitation will be open to the public on Tuesday, June 28th from 4pm-8pm at Wozney-Killian Funeral Home in Arcadia, WI. a prayer service will be held at 7:00 PM. The funeral service is private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made at the funeral home in memory of Al, to the Trempealeau County Whitetails Unlimited Kids Day Program.
